Remastered for CD release in August 1997, Christchurch.

Originally released as a double C90 in 1994.

OMIT ANOINT FIELD recordings with a servomechanism of electronic-drone-hum-loop-percussive-clang-noise-guitar-rattle to very serious effect. An existential mind "dig" triggered by varying wave tones and sound sample. The 3 CDs come in individual printed envelopes in a flop-top 5" tape box, just like a miniature LP boxed set. The first CD "Depopulation Of The Self Deformed Mind" is full of calm and nervous energy (my favorite section of the three if pressed to choose). The second CD ("The Bridge-Down Verges On Before Any Lost Exit Remonstration Burns") seems to structure more field recordings and ambient noise burst placements e.g. the kitchen-sink effect is interesting on "Section Two/Unit Four/3 - 8.30pm" (Tapping a jar. Shuffling the silverware; dropping a spoon on the table; Tapping the side of an empty stainless steel sink and bouncing a ball all in cadence). On the third and final CD "Pre-Observation Of Over All Mind Drift," it all comes to it's gratifying end in a series of echo, loops, synth, field recordings and tape manipulations. I think this is a one man band thing - how he manages to tie it all together into a mind odyssey concept will provide you years of enjoyment; background music for those late night innerself journeys... while ghosts drift thru the walls like smoke.
